Also, it is considered as a food with low-glycemic index which releases blood glucose more steadily those allows you to feel full for a longer period of time thus, less cravings.

Second: HIGH FIBER CONTENT When I was young I was always told by my mother that foods which high fiber aid your body in digestion. Foods with high fiber content also allows you feel full much faster thus, you'll never have to feel like you need to eat more of it. Not like foods with low fiber content, it makes you feel like you have not had enough and could most probably make you go beyond your calorie limit intake.

Third: HIGH WATER CONTENT On a normal circumstance, drinking water before eating a full meal allows you to eat less than what you can actually have. This is because the water which you have taken in before the actual meal helps you feel fuller. The water content in sweet potatoes allows you to feel full and helps prevent unnecessary snacking in between meals.
