What Food Contains Calcium-

The daily intake of calcium for an adult - 1000-1500 mg for adolescents - 1000-1300 mg for children - 200-1000 mg.

You can get calcium from special medicines recommended by a doctor, and foodstuffs. Calcium is found in almost all foods, but there are several major groups:

fruit - citrus, apricots, plums, bananas, apples, peaches, grapes, figs;
berries - strawberries, gooseberries, cherries, blackberries, currants,
vegetables - celery, broccoli, cauliflower, turnips, carrots, radishes, asparagus;

herbs and spices - watercress, young nettle, lettuce, leeks, oregano, rosemary, mint, basil, fennel, garlic, parsley, coriander, cinnamon, cumin, chili pepper, dill, mustard, nutmeg;

cereals and grains - oatmeal, buckwheat, rice, semolina, barley, wheat semolina, wheat bran, sago;

nuts and seeds - sesame seeds, almonds, poppy seeds, hazelnuts;
legumes - beans, peas, beans, soybeans, lentils, green peas;

fish - sardines, salmon, mackerel, cod, herring, cod liver oil;
meat - beef, pork, beef liver;

seafood - sea kale, almost all seafood;
milk, eggs and dairy products - milk, yogurt,cottage cheese, sour cream, cheese, butter, eggs.

Note that during the thermal treatment, as well as during prolonged storage calcium content in the products can greatly reduced.

Pure calcium practically not absorbed. Therefore it is important to combine foods containing calcium with foods rich in vitamin D.

Calcium is absorbed better after seven o'clock in the evening.
